My ultimate goal during my small time at my school is to continue transitioning towards a library learning commons model through collaboration with various teachers and the administration. I feel quite grateful to have landed in a school where the administration is supportive and staff are keen to see the library evolve into a learning commons. That being said, having been in a Teacher Librarian position for only 2 months and potentially having only a month remaining, it was quite difficult for me to conceptualize this plan for my current library learning commons.

I have complete my Five Year Horizon for My Library based on the needs I see for the school I am currently in. I'm sure this plan will change as I become more acquainted with the school learning community.

Questions

  1. What kinds of changes do you think a teacher-librarian can make to a library learning commons in 4months, six months, or 1 year?

  2. How does one balance the day to day library learning commons tasks, to-do lists, classroom visits and continue to reach their learning common horizons?
