As many of you know, I am brand new to my teacher librarian position (temporary). My Library Learning Commons does not currently have a Maker Space in place. After reading "Making in the Library Toolkit" I feel quite excited about potentially developing a Makerspace. However, I quickly remind myself that things look very different at school and in particular, our library learning commons. I'm starting to wonder how I can create a Maker Space in my LLC that is Co-Vid 19 friendly. I wonder if rather than creating a Makerspace, I should create a plan for one when this pandemic ends. How are your Makerspaces being impacted by Co-Vid 19?

Questions for Consideration

  1. How are you adapting your Maker Spaces during co-vid 19?

  2. What might a Pop-Up Maker Space look like at the secondary level? Is this something that can be implemented during Co-vid 19?
