I created a Screen Cast titled "How to use the Linoit" since my knowledge of using this tool is quite fresh. That being said, I was very nervous recording my screen cast and have realized that I would benefit from writing notes to help cue what I need to say next.

I made this Screen Cast using an app called Screencastify. I found the app to be quite intuitive and user friendly; however, the free version of the app only allows you to make 5 minute videos.

I think there is great potential for using screen casts in my learning commons. In fact, one of the items on my to-do list is to create screen casts for searching the library catalog using classic destiny. Another screen cast I would like to make is showing my student how to use Destiny Discover as well as the new Destiny collections I have been working on for my school. A screen cast would be a great way to introduce the learning commons website for grade 9s or new students.

I also like the idea of having students use screen casts to explain the process by which they completed their assignments.

Lastly, Screen casts are great for teaching. I know lots of teachers used screen casts last spring while doing distance learning. Many teachers have now have resorted to creating screen casts when they have a TTOC coming in for them.

Other than Screencastify, what other screen casting apps have you had success with?
