Watching the videos in the previous task reminded me of a photo essay I had my my grade 12 students complete a few years ago while teaching overseas. Over the course of the semester, the students had written a series of Personal Essays. At the end of the term, I had them select one personal essay and create a photo novel/essay. We had watched La Jetée, a French science fiction film which was later adapted as "12 Monkeys" as inspiration. The idea was students would use a series of pictures to make their personal essay come to life. I had no idea what I was going to get, but the results were absolutely amazing. From anime to photography, the creativity and passion the students completed these projects with completely blew my mind. Unfortunately, I do not have access to my old Google Classroom as I am no longer with the international school and I also don't have student permission to share the videos even if I did have them.

When searching for a video to share with my staff, I found myself drawn to videos similar to Troll by Shane Koyczan, a video we were instructed to view during Module 5. After further reflection, I wanted to find something unique that my staff had perhaps not seen before. I selected a video called " How to Design and Build Your Own Race Car" by Emma Carter. This video exemplifies various parts of the inquiry process, specifically related to engineering, that can be applied in any of the ADST courses offered at our school.

I found the video in the Vimeo Creative Commons by adjusting the License filter to CC BY-NC-ND. This license allows me to "copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format" (Creative Commons).
